Sandvik acquires Deswik and launches new Digital Mining Technologies Division
We are thrilled to announce that Deswik has signed an agreement to be acquired by Sandvik, the high-tech and global engineering group headquartered in Sweden.
At Deswik, we have always been incredibly proud of our humble beginnings. From start-up to industry leader, we have achieved amazing success and we believe the recipe for this success has been our people, amazing culture, and fanatical customer service.
The evolution of Deswik over the past 13 years has been filled with many significant milestones, and our decision to join Sandvik is another important and exciting milestone in our history.
Deswik will be part of the newly formed Digital Mining Technologies division within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area. We will form an important part of the value chain in their existing divisions’ offering, increasing upstream mining coverage and enabling opportunities for end-to-end optimization solutions.
“Deswik’s second to none software suite combined with Sandvik’s digital and automation offering creates a clear world leader in digital solutions for the mining industry. Combining Deswik’s skills in mine planning and scheduling with our equipment and automation expertise will open new opportunities for optimizing our customers’ mining value chain.”
Henrik Ager, President of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.
Continuing to deliver high levels of customer service
Deswik remains committed to delivering the same exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to our customers.
While we will form part of the Digital Mining Technologies division at Sandvik, we will remain a standalone business unit. This means the Deswik brand as you know it, our people, locations and your key relationships with Account Managers and Support won’t change.
A bright future for Deswik
Our mining engineers and software developers deliver a powerful mix of industry experience, technical expertise and innovation.
Now, we’re in an exciting and enviable position to rapidly evolve and play a part in the growth strategy of Sandvik and ultimately, continue delivering outstanding solutions to our customers.
We have a lot to be proud of and the future is brighter than ever.
Wayne Romer
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
